New Bioshock 2 campaign begins this Saturday… on Brighton beach

Marketing campaigns can prove to create tremendous hype behind a title. The ‘Something under the Sea’ website set up by 2k Games was an incredible way of obtaining the attention of gamers, as well as making them aware of Bioshock 2. I even went into great detail, investigating the teaser site. However, despite suffering a delay, it appears 2k Games are to continue the hype with a new viral event happening this Saturday.

A letter on the new-look ‘Something under the Sea’ website, written by Mark Meltzer – a man who has lost his daughter, confirms that “tides may carry in valuable information at approx. sunrise.” The locations listed are all beaches within Australia, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, France, Spain, U.S., Canada and England. The letter asks for people to “look closely at anything that appears out of the ordinary” in these locations and to “get photos of anything [they] find!”

If you fancy becoming a part of such a huge viral campaign, the details can be found in the letter. If any of you Monsters do make your way to any of the locations, we’d love to see any photographs and videos you obtained from it. For further information regarding the event, simply head over to the thread on the 2K forums.
