Many people take issue with spending money on points which you can spend on games and the like on the Xbox Live Marketplace. It is both a needless intermediary step and an unrewarding purchase. When paying for downloads, there is no physical reward that people can use to justify the extracation of money from their accounts, so some find it difficult. The middle man of Microsoft Points only exacerbates this.
