MotorStorm 3D Rift Hits PSN Tomorrow

To fill the waiting time between the next release of the MotorStorm franchise, MotorStorm Apocalypse, releasing in 2011, the developers will be bringing 10 tracks from MotorStorm Pacific Rift to early 3D adopters to ride and slide in a new title releasing on the PlayStation Store tomorrow cunningly titled MotorStorm 3D Rift – mmm catchy!

Eachtrack can be relived in stunning 3D and will feature a selection of festival-favourite off-road vehicles: Bikes, Buggies, Racing Trucks and Monster Trucks to help face the various terrain that is served up by the hosting tropical island. There will be 10 unique events to compete in (one for each track) and a full range of competitor difficulty levels through the races, so you can enjoy the brutal off-road racing at your leisure, or take on the challenge of the toughest and most competitive rivals. With 3D gaming though, we are promised that “you’ll have the edge.”

“Through stereoscopic 3D you can naturally judge your speed and proximity, which is extremely useful when trying to avoid being side-swiped by a rampaging Racing Truck, ramming a rival Buggy into a cave wall, or timing when to get back on the accelerator as you take a tricky corner. When you are riding a Bike, it’s obvious what you can and can’t duck under – even at high speeds. When you are sitting behind the wheel of a Monster Truck, you get to feel just how monstrous it is – looking down on a rival Buggy just before they disappear under your super-sized wheels.” saidSimon Benson, Senior Development Manager in the SCEE 3D Team,

“If you’ve played the3D Collectiondemo and wanted more tracks and a greater challenge, you need to pick up MotorStorm 3D Rift. If you haven’t, you’ll be blown away by the sense of speed as you fight through the sublime tropical island setting and RIP it up in 3D paradise.”

So if you have a 3D TV already, well done, grab this game tomorrow and come back here and tell us in the comments what you think. If you don’t have 3D TV it has been said that you can still play this game on PSN, but if you already have Pacific Rift there doesn’t appear to be much else on offer here to warrant a purchase. 3D Rift is best for 3D TV gamers, and I advise if you have the need to play Pacific Rift you’ll find it for around £9-£14 online or even cheaper pre-owned or inyour local highstreet bargain bins.
