Motorola win court case to stop distribution of Xbox 360 in Germany

An injunction has been granted preventing Microsoft from distributing the Xbox 360 in Germany.

Motorola Mobility was granted the injunction which also bans Windows 7 system software, Internet Explorer and Windows Media Player from being distributed.

The order follows a ruling that Microsoft infringed two patents necessary to offer H.264 video coding and playback.

However, a US court has banned Motorola from enforcing the action until next week, when the company has considered the matter. Additionally, this gives Microsoft time to appeal.
