More details emerge for Codemasters’ upcoming Colin McRae: Dirt 3 (or just Dirt 3 it seems to be now, sorry Colin R.I.P.). Via their press release, that describes events occurring in its teaser trailer that we posted over the Weekend, we learn more about possible events, locations and cars that we will be seeing in the game when this anticipated racing title hits our drive trays in 2011. Read on for the info…
“TheDiRT 3video opens with WRC driver Ken Block leading the field as his iconic Monster Energy-branded Ford Fiesta rally car kicks up a dust storm in a sundried Kenyan rally stage. Seamlessly hurtling into a torrential downpour on a muddy Finnish lakeside course, Block then jumps into a Norwegian stage that’s thick with snow. Racing onto tarmac, a Ford RS200 classic rallycross car races into view and goes head-to-head with Block and a Mitsubishi Evo X in rallycross spec in the hills above Monaco.
The pace then changes as man and machine demonstrates what the very best drivers can do with a rally car in a Gymkhana-style performance. Set in the open environment of London’s disused Battersea Power Station, this skills showpiece delivers a new layer of depth to the DiRT series’ variety of action-sports racing.
Coming 2011,DiRT 3will boast more cars, more locations, more routes and more events than any other game in the series, including over 50 rally cars representing the very best from five decades of the sport. With more than double the track content of 2009’s hit,DiRT 3will see players start at the top as a professional driver, with a top-flight career in competitive off-road racing complimented by the opportunity to express themselves in Gymkhana-style showpiece driving events.
As players race to elevate their global standing,DiRT 3delivers mud, sweat and gears world over: from the intense weather-beaten rally stages of Europe, Africa and the US, to executing performance driving showcases and career challenges where car control is pushed to spectacular limits.”
Excited? We are! Let us know your thoughts on the above details in the comments. What would you like to see in Dirt 3?
