Those of you with XBLA versions of the games set to feature on the upcoming Xbox Game Room feature will have to re-purchase the content.
It follows suggestions that some of the original batch of XBLA titles which were re-makes and re-ports of old games set to appear in the Game Room such as Centipede would carry across.
However Microsoft told Game Informer that they will charge for those titles you already own.
The reason behind this? The Game Room will feature the original arcade games unchanged at a cost of 240MS Points for just the 360 licence. However the XBLA releases were updated versions of the game specially designed and costing 400 MS Points.
Sadly that means you’ll have to fork out for content again, but we sort of expected that with Microsoft’s previous history.
Don’t forget though the games will have achievements, so all is not lost!
