Microsoft shows up at PS3 launch

Those of you living under a rock won’t have known that a little known company called Sony launched it’s new games console the Playstation 3 (no, we’ve never played on the first two either). But never fear, Microsoft was on hand to welcome Sony into the big bad world of video games.

On the launch in Virgin Megastore in London, Microsoft handed out fold out chairs to punters with the words “Shouldn’t have kept you waiting” on them and the URL www.shkyw.org. The address leads to a flash movie which says “Xbox welcomes PS3 to the next generation…Sony…you’re late!…Let the games begin.”

Microsoft also sent out 168 cans of lager to journalists, obviously ours are still in the post somewhere, with a note stating they is a better way to spend £146, the price difference between the PS3 and Xbox 360.

In Paris, Microsoft sent a riverboat to park on the river Seine with the words “Xbox 360 ’Loves’ You”. Picture from Kotaku:
