Microsoft launches GamerScore reward system

Microsoft has launched a new reward system for players who are keen achievement junkies.

Entitled “MyAchievements,” the system, which is for Xbox Live Rewards Gold members, contains three tiers: Contender, Champion and Legend. Each of the tiers offers players a “special gift” during their birthday month, though further prizes are awarded for those with higher GamerScores.

“Champion,” which is for gamers with between 10,000 – 24,999 GamerScore, offers a 1% rebate on players’ Xbox Live Marketplace purchases every month, while “Legend,” which is for those with 25,000 GamerScore and higher, offers a 2% rebate on Xbox Live Marketplace purchases every month.

Unfortunately, the small print says that the approximate value of the “special gift” is a mere 15 pence, so don’t get too excited.

You can sign up to MyAchievements here.
