Have you been disappointed with the discounts and sales Microsoft offer on XBLA? If so you’re probably not alone. You might be happier to learn that the boys at Redmond today announced they’re giving away 800 MS points to Xbox360 users, although there is of course a catch.

Xbox Live customers will need to spend 2,400 MS Points on Marketplace through the month of October. This can be on XBLA titles or game add-ons, though if you live in Japan, Italy or France you’re out of luck.

Comic Jumper, Pinball FX 2 and Super Meat Boy are all due out on XBLA this month, though this offer isn’t limited to the purchase of new titles. Perhaps Microsoft are able to afford this because of Robbie Bach losing $4.2 million in bonuses due to departing the company as Entertainment and Devices president.

Do you think this is a good deal? Let us know in the comments.

Marty Greenwell

Marty has been gaming since the heady years of the ZX-81 and still owns most of the gaming systems purchased since those days, including the Atari 2600, ZX Spectrum, SNES, Jaguar, Dreamcast and GameCube. Being a collection junkie (or more accurately, hoarder), he buys more games than he can possibly play, far too many of which are still sealed in their packaging. Marty favours RPGs and Driving games when it comes to genres, and is possibly a little bit too addicted to Disgaea. When not gaming he’s out frightening OAPs on his motorcycle, clad in black leather.
