Microsoft have announced that they are to be opening a MGS in good old Britain. The new studio is to be based in Reading. This studio is responsible for looking after the European sector of developers, such as Rare.
As of May 6th, the new studio will be opened and will be run by Phil Spencer, general manager of MGS. He’ll continue to run the Microsoft Games Studios whilst also establishing a European publishing team.
“We already have an established presence in the region with some of the world’s best development talent like Lionhead and Rare, and great publishing partners like Bizarre Creations, Real Time Worlds and Remedy,” said Phil Spencer. “I’m very excited about what we’ve accomplished in Europe and I look forward to continuing and strengthening that success by building deeper relationships with the development community here.”
Could this mean more European exclusive games?
We’ll have to wait and see!
