Microsoft admits ’embarrassing mistake’

Microsoft has had to back-track on its recently announced sales figures which stated that the Xbox 360 is winning the current-generation console race.

However as pointed out by Kotaku, the Wii has already hit 10.6 million units in the US and 24.45 million worldwide, a more significant figure than that of Microsoft.

However a representative from Microsoft has embarrassingly admitted that the Xbox 360 is ‘the first current-generation gaming console to break 10 million in the US’. Basically they were comparing figures to the PlayStation 3, which was remember, released after the 360.

It appears to be in the ‘in’ thing at the moment to release sales figures, so expect more from Sony this time during the rest of the week!
