Massive Entertainment considered releasing The Division on PS3, 360

Massive Entertainment is confident that Tom Clancy’s The Division will receive strong support from PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners when it launches next year.

Speaking to Examiner.com, Fredrik Rundqvist, executive producer of the game, said that the developer did think about bringing the game to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360: “Sure. We want the game to be as accessible as possible.

“What we wanted to do with the graphics and with the seamless open-world is not possible to do on last-gen.”

He continued: “”If you look at the [sales] trends for PS4 and Xbox One, I think it looks really encouraging. It’s selling faster than last-gen, which is surprising to me. I don’t mind at all [thatThe Division] is coming out next year. There will be more people who can enjoy the game.”

Tom Clancy’s The Division is set to launch on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2015.
