Bungie has confirmed that the character ‘Maddie’ will still appear in Halo 3 Recon despite all the Madeleine McCann backlash.
Following the announcement yesterday and all the silly connections when the first trailer was shown, Luke Smith from Bungie described the incident to Eurogamer as being an: “unfortunate coincidence”, adding, “Because of that coincidence, we’ve pulled that slide.”
However the community and PR manager Brian Jarrad has confirmed that the content in the expansion pack will not be changed including anything to do with the story.
A lot of people have made a big fuss over the use of the name Maddie and presumably games companies will never be able to use the name again without fear of backlash. Infact no one call there children Maddie just incase we upset someone. Because the Daily Mail will just tear us to pieces…
Halo 3 Recon is penned for Autumn 2009, a long wait yet.
