Lovefilm streaming out on PS3 today

In the US, film lovers with a Netflix account have had access to selection of movies via the Xbox360 and PS3 for quite a while. Here in Blighty, we’ve only had Sky on the Xbox360 with movies on demand (Zune aside), so long as you had an Xbox live Gold account and purchased an additional Sky Pack, or had an existing Sky subscription.

Today, for those people with a PS3 and LoveFilm account, we see the emergence of something a little closer to the Netflix functionality. All you need to do is click on the LoveFilm icon on the XMB and sign in using your existing LoveFilm username and password and as long as you’re signed up for at least the £5.99 (without games) or £9.99+, streaming movies is free.

If you’re not a LoveFilm member already, there is a 30 day trial available. If you want an idea of the movies available, then follow this link.

Have you checked the service out yet? Let us know in the comments.

Marty Greenwell

Marty has been gaming since the heady years of the ZX-81 and still owns most of the gaming systems purchased since those days, including the Atari 2600, ZX Spectrum, SNES, Jaguar, Dreamcast and GameCube. Being a collection junkie (or more accurately, hoarder), he buys more games than he can possibly play, far too many of which are still sealed in their packaging. Marty favours RPGs and Driving games when it comes to genres, and is possibly a little bit too addicted to Disgaea. When not gaming he’s out frightening OAPs on his motorcycle, clad in black leather.
