Sony has revealed that its exuberant PS3 exclusive, Little Big Planet 2, will in fact not feature 3D support.

Speaking on the US PS Blog, Sony marketing manager Mark Valledor informed a concerned reader: “Sorry, no 3D this time around.”

Sony has been pushing stereoscopic 3D almost as hard as the movie industry, with such titles as GT5, MotorStorm: Apocalypse and Killzone 3 all packing stereoscopic effects, so the removal of 3D support for Sackboy’s latest seems at odds with the company’s 3D-centric output.

Sony has yet to reveal why Sackboy won’t be appearing in 3D this time around, but we’ll certainly keep you posted.

Will you be picking up Little Big Planet 2 when the game launches on January 18? Let us know in the comments thread below…
