Kotick – ‘I would raise the prices even further’

We recently discussed if you would pay up to £70 for a game (click here for that article), and now in another astonishing comment Activision CEO Bobby Kotick has admitted that if it was up to him, he would raise prices even further.

Activision have already hiked the price of their blockbuster game Modern Warfare 2 to £54.99 and when asked about the controversial subjectpresident Michael Griffith stated: “We’ve had for all of our launch titles in the back half of this year, some of which contain peripherals, very strong retailer acceptance and support for all parts of our plan including our price points.”

At which point Kotick added: “You know if it was left to me, I would raise the prices even further.”

I hope I’m speaking on behalf of most gamers here by saying, “Thank god Bobby Kotick is not in charge”.
