The Call of Duty games, like so many before them, are subjected to a torrent of abuse from glitchers. They make it their lifes work to burrow deep into the games design hoping to find glitches to exploit the title on or offline.
According to Kotaku, in an attempt to curb said glitchers Infinity Ward have gone as far as to hire a group of them, fly them down to the Infinity Ward studios and get them to hunt down glitches before the game is released at the end of the year.
The main group being hired is the glitchers ‘MapMonkey’ who posted the following on their forums;
I know most of you know this, but there isn’t a thread so I thought I’d make one. Four members of mapMonkeys are being flown out to California on Sunday, July 10th, to test Modern Warfare 3, including mapMonkey, IM Buddy8, skateboard, and myself! We’ve been flown out to test other games in the past (Such as Call of Dut:World at War and Modern Warfare 2), but we only had 2 or 3 days to test the game and find glitches, which wasn’t nearly enougn time. This time, Infinity Ward is keeping us there an entire week so we can find more bugs and glitches than ever before! I know this goes against mapMonkeys since we thrive off of finding and sharing glitches with each other, but this is an amazing opportunity we can’t pass up! I hope you’re as excited as I am about this and I can’t wait to share my opinion about the game with you (without giving away anything that hasn’t been revealed yet of course)
It seems that Infinity Ward is doing it’s upmost to make the newest Modern Warfare title as enjoyable as possible when it’s released on Xbox 360 and PS3.
