Hydrophobia Info revealed

Blade Interactive, a UK based company, have been secretly developing Hydrophobia for quite a few years, but finally we have some solid details from the horses mouth.

According to the games website, Hydrophobia is a “revolutionary survival adventure game which uses HydroEngine to deliver the most realistic water you’ve ever seen.” The HydroEngine, in my opinion looks gorgeous. That too has been in development for a few years. Blade Interactive says that the “HydroEngine means that the water in Hydrophobia behaves exactly as in life; it flows, it makes surfaces and characters wet, it carries objects and bodies and interacts fully with Hydrophobia’s entirely dynamic environments.” This means we will have innovative ways of solving the puzzles in the game instead of just pushing blocks around.

As well as the unique Hydro Engine, Blade have also created the Infinite Worlds system, which gives the game it’s rich detail making it look fantastic . Blade Interactive say “This information can be processed by the advanced AI systems in the game, meaning enemies and NPCs have a detailed knowledge and unique perception of the world around them. Characters know which areas are flooded, they can remember which doors they have opened and which doors are locked, they can exchange information, keep track of danger areas and constantly adapt their behaviour to the dynamic changes in the environment and the player’s actions.”

Look at the detail on that water!
