Hard Drive Required For Football Fun

Sega Europe’s upcoming title Football Manager 2006 will be the first (other than Final Fantasy XI) Xbox 360 to require a hard drive, potentially cutting out the gamers with ‘Core’ packages from purchasing the title.  We did announce this a little while back, but it’s now been 100% confirmed with a new boxart showing a HDD required logo bottom left:

We asked Sega the reasons for this, and they simply stated that it was the only way to handle the huge amounts of data inflow (Player stats, manager stats, game stats etc) and back logging for the game.  The 360’s core system is just not capable of handling that, and so the HDD had to be used.

Could this be the start of many more games requiring the HDD and if so how do you Core owners feel about that?  Why not chat about it in our forums?
