Halo 4 Is Going Back to it’s Halo: CE Roots

It seems that if UK Xbox’s Entertainment Director Stephen McGill is anything to go by, then Halo 4 will be going back to it’s Halo: Combat Evolved roots when it’s eventually released on the Xbox 360.

“One of the key things with Halo 4 is going back to what made it amazing for people playing the first Halo,” McGill told MCV recently.

Halo 4 along with Halo: CE Anniversary are also deemed as the perfect platform to not only remind gamers of what it was like to play Halo: CE on the original Xbox, but also to give the younger generation a chance to experience what it felt like to play Halo: CE.

“The people who are 18 years old now were only eight when Halo appeared. They probably didn’t play it. That’s the opportunity the Anniversary pack and then Halo 4 have,” he said.

He went on to say, “The tenth anniversary is huge and is a product of great passion. It’s important we celebrate this – the game itself was a huge milestone for us and kickstarted the platform in a lot of ways.”

“But the platform has evolved dramatically in that time, so it’s worth going back to show how it still stands up as a product made today.”

Halo: CE Anniversary will be released this Novembers with Halo 4 not far behind, it will be interesting to see just how they create the same feeling experienced playing the original games in these more updated versions.
