Microsoft’s marketing manager Chris Di Cesare has stated that Halo 3 will beat the opening weekend Box Office record in the US, which is currently held by Spider-Man 3 with took $151 million in it’s opening weekend. Di Cesare believes Halo 3 will rake in around $155 million in just one day.
“We did $125 million last time, We’re confident we can do better.” Di Cesare told Variety. “I recognize it’s not apples to apples. But it’s big business any way you cut it.”
Halo 3 recently broke the record as the most pre-ordered video game ever smashing 1 million pre-orders in the US alone. Many experts believe the game could even earn Microsoft and Bungie a cool $170 million.
