Guitar Hero IV details unveiled

It has being confirmed that Guitar Hero IV will follow closely in the footsteps of Rock Band and will offer a variety of new instruments including bass guitar, microphone and a six-piece drumset with two cymbals, as we reported last week.

In the latest issue of GameInformer magazine, Activision revealed that players will be able to step into a studio and create songs which can then be shared online with others through a ‘Guitar Hero Tunes’ service. The tracks will not feature vocals however.

Further still players will be able to design musicians, album art and instruments on-screen. No songs have yet being confirmed however bands set to feature include Van Halen, The Eages, Sublime and Linkin Park. A change will also see master tracks used instead of cover singles.

Neversoft are developing the title for the Xbox 360, Wii and PS3 and will be due by the end of the year as mentioned previously.
