GT Academy Time Trial Begins

PlayStation fans and petrol heads will remember last year’s GTA Academy, an officially run competition which had petrol-headed gamers submitting their fastest circuit times, which were then whittled down to a handful of drivers who would compete against each other for a seat in a real-life racing car event.

This year’s Time Trial event begins today and will be running until midnight 24th Janurary 2010. So make sure you set your fastest lap times if you want to be in the chance to make it into to the second GT Academy held at the British circuit – Silverstone.

PlayStation Blog recently managed to get a few minutes with Kazunori Yamauchi, the man behind the Gran Turismo series, who gives his thoughts on the GT Academy and how this groundbreaking initiative brings together the real and virtual racing worlds.

Do you think you have what it takes to get into the Academy? Let us know in the comments if you are going to give it ago, and keep us posted on how you get on.
