In a recent interview with Eurogamer, the mastermind behind the Gran Turismo series, Kazunori Yamauchi, confirmed that they plan to release updates for GT5 Prologue, including adding the feature of damage.
Along with the addition of damage, they also plan to include community aspects of the game such as friends lists.
When questioned as to whether we’ll be seeing damage in GT5, Yamauchi dropped the bombshell comment:
“That’s the plan, yes! It’s actually really difficult to finish the quality that’s possible with the PS3, in terms of the fine details – it’s a lot harder than we first expected. A lot of things are very dependent on that, and we can’t answer right away. However, we are planning to add the community features, and the damage, during Gran Turismo 5 Prologue.”
So far the Gran Turismo series has not seen any form of damage, so it’s yet to be seen how realistic it’ll be, or whether the cars handling will be affected although it’s probably quite safe to say that it’ll be about as realistic as the rest of the game.
As ever, when we get more word on the new features coming over the coming year for GT5 Prologue, we’ll let you know!
