GAME Group will not be stocking any EA games, including Mass Effect 3, after SSX’s release on Friday.
Eurogamer made the discovery, which encompasses all GAME and Gamestation stores.
There is no official reason for the withdrawal, though it’s believed that GAME have been struggling to agree deals with individual publishers for some time.
Eurogamer also managed to get hold of the full memo to GAME staff.
A new post on the EA website confirms that GAME will no longer be stocking the Mass Effect 3 N7 Collector’s Edition, which was previously a GAME exclusive.
The post lists Amazon, Play.com, Zavvi and ShopTo as the retailers stocking the special edition, also adding: “If you have placed a deposit for a pre-order or are uncertain that your existing pre-order will be guaranteed, please contact your local retailer.
“Your local retailer is doing everything possible to make this process as smooth as possible to ensure you get your copy on launch day.”
Anyone with pre-orders for games such as Mass Effect 3, FIFA Street and Tiger Woods 13 will be refunded with in-store credit, rather than cash.
