Grand Theft Auto V will feature three protagonists, it has been revealed.
The details were unveiled an 18-page feature in the December issue of Game Informer, which is now on sale.
One of the new features is an in-game menu which allows for players to switch between characters (Michael, Trevor and Franklin) at any time. Upon choosing, the camera pulls away to a Google Earth-style point and drops the camera to where the selected character is.
There are missions that involve all three characters, including heists. Each character will react differently to people, depending on the area they are in.
Rockstar has said that the world has been described as “the largest open-world playground in Rockstar history, bigger than Red Dead Redemption, San Andreas and GTA4 combined.”
Confirmed vehicles include BMX, mountain bikes, road bikes, dirt bikes, a huge variety of cars and trucks, helicopters, planes, ATVs, jet skis and planes. Activities in the game include yoga, triathlons, base-jumping, tennis, and a full golf game on a full golf course.
Rockstar has also said that cars are less “boat-like” in comparison to Grand Theft Auto IV. Shooting has also evolved in terms of feel and mechanics.
Returning features include the gym and Ammu-Nation returns, though romances and weight gain/loss haven’t been included as they “wouldn’t work.”
The second trailer for Grand Theft Auto V is expected to be released on Wednesday, November 15th.
