FIFA 12 commentary team announced

For the first time ever in the FIFA series the English version of the game comes with two commentary teams. The first duo introduces Alan Smith to the team and he replaces Andy Gray, who’s been chopped unsurprisingly. Smith teams up with Martin Tyler and they will be you main commentators throughought FIFA 12.

In a press announcement Senior Producer David Rutter had this to say about the move:

“Alan will bring a fresh, new perspective and insight toFIFA 12, working alongside the trusted and well-known voice of Martin Tyler,”

“As one of the top-tier broadcasters on the UK football scene, he brings enormous knowledge and expert analysis to the game so that we can deliver the most authenticFIFAexperience this year.”

Smith, now commentating for Sky Sports followed with

“The natural chemistry that Martin and I have developed working live matches for TV has transferred very well to the virtual broadcast booth,”

“I’m really looking forward to FIFA fans hearing our work this fall as we bring all the match day emotion and excitement to this year’s game.”

That in itself is good news as over the past few years the commentary has began to become a little repetitive. But even better news coming out of the EA camp is that there will be a second broadcast team consisting of Clive Tyldesley and Andy Townsend. This dynamic duo will call tournament matches giving the match a real sense of occasion. You can of course choose out of the two in the settings pre-match should you have a preference.

Good news if I don’t say so myself. Let me know your thoughts in a comment below.
