E74 error covered under Xbox 360’s extended warranty

We’ve all heard of the Red Ring of Death, in fact, many of us have probably experienced it. But in recent months, the E74 error has caused a “very small percentage” of Xbox 360 customers’ problem.

The E74 error indicates a “general hardware failure” which is generally “associated with three flashing red lights.” Therefore Microsoft have decided that they will now “cover repairs related to the E74 error message.”

The free repair comes as part of the three-year warranty program declared back in July 2007. Unfortunately, those out of warranty will have to cough up. For more details on the E74 error and Microsoft’s new coverage, click here.
