Deep Silver Sends Out Torsos Despite Apologies

Back in January Deep Silver revealed plans to ship a bloodied, decapitated torso as part of their special edition ‘Zombie Bait’ version of its latest title Dead Island: Riptide.

After revealing their plans they got a backlash of angry gamers, no doubt angry mums to. Deep Silver then proceeded to apologise for their latest idea and issued this heartfelt apology,”We sincerely regret this choice. For now, we want to reiterate to the community, fans and industry how deeply sorry we are, and that we are committed to making sure this will never happen again.”

This week UK and Aussie gamers have started toreceivetheir zombie bate versions, complete with bloodied torso begging the question why did Deep Silver ever issue that apology?

It’s an 18+ rated game and some feel that the backlash went a little OTT myself included. I do not think they needed to issue an apology and as such should have shipped the torso regardless. It seems though that they simply apologised to keep the media heat of themselves despite having every intention to send the zombie bait edition.
