Dead Space 2 made official

The biggest secret of the Winter so far is out. Dead Space 2 will be launching in 2010.

Visceral Games made the announcement earlier today for the sequel which will be out on the Xbox 360 and PS3 once again.

You’ll play as Isaac Clarke again as you take the fight to the Necromorphs along with a variety of new weapons to slice and dice the alien breeds.

“Like so many gamers worldwide, we love the Dead Space franchise and are very excited to announce a new game in the series,” said Nick Earl, Senior VP and Group General Manager at EA. “Visceral Games is quickly becoming known for delivering high-quality, action-packed games. Dead Space 2 is on target to deliver a jaw-dropping experience gamers won’t soon forget.”

Not much else was revealed but expect it to be a high-octane adventure as the first was. If you want to remind yourself how good it was, check out Luke’s opinions on the 360 version and Tom’s views on the PS3 adventure.
