Dead Kings DLC for Assassin’s Creed Unity Given Release Date

To call last year’s launch of hotly-anticipatedAssassin’s Creed Unity a botch job would be to vastly underplay the mistakes that were made. Admittedly, Ubisoft always have a busy schedule in the run up to the Christmas season, but nothing could excuse the debacle that was to ensue.

What was, on the face of it, a decent game with a pretty face and a nifty new freerunning engine, was sold down the river by poor QA testing. The internet was, predictably, unforgiving.

As recompense for the unacceptable state the game was in at launch, Ubi promised the first DLC pack, entitledDead Kings, as a free giveaway to all owners of the game. Finally, the time has come for them to make good on that promise and the release date for the content pack has been given as January 13th. If you’ve been missing Arno for all the gluttony, mince pies and self loathing of the festive period, fear not! That’s just one week until the new content drops.

Guillotine Guns will be a newly-added weapon class inDead Kings

But what isDead Kings going to consist of? Well there’s a new campaign sequence to play, in which Arno must visit the resting places of dead French leaders, a new area of France to climb all over and, of course, the absurd Guillotine Guns, as pictured above, will be making an appearance.

I’ll simply say that I’m far from waiting with bated breath, but I’ve never been one to complain about a freebie. Get ready to go graverobbing on January 13th.
