Dark Souls IIis set to receive a next-gen remaster, the game’s developer has announced.
Bandai Namco revealed that the action RPG would be heading to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2015, with improved graphics and additional content. The title will also be available on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, without the visual improvements.
Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin(as it will be known) will include the original game, plus all three previously released DLCs (Crown of the Sunken King, Crown of the Old Iron King, and Crown of the Ivory King).
The rerelease will feature additional NPCs “for an enhanced story experience”, “parameter adjustments for improved game balance”, “augmented item descriptions” and “improved online matchmaking functionality”.
Existing Dark Souls II owners on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 will be able to download the new content for free as part of a “large scale” content update.
In the Console Monster review, Dark Souls II scored 83%.
Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin is set to launch on Friday, April 3rd, 2015.
