Consoles To Tune Into Spotify

Popular peer-to-peer music-streaming program, Spotify, could be headed into new territory in the forms of toolkits compatible with a range of electronic devices such as games consoles and televisions. Co-founder of Spotify, Daniel Ek, explained that a new toolkit, set for release this week, will provide developers with the opportunity to implement the service on their product, with Xbox 360 and PS3 being namedropped into the mix.

First spotted on the PC and Mac, Spotify could be winging its way to consoles soon.

Allowing the streaming of music for a nominal fee could see Spotify taking to the skies of success. It has huge potential and could become an instant success or a grand statue of epic fail. Please comment with your thoughts.

Sam Finch

Sam has been unable to peel his bloodshot eyes and RSI-ridden wrists from the world of gaming since he was first introduced to it, like all good junkies, by his Grandad. From those early days of MegaDrive sweetness, bashing through the throngs of enemies on Shining Force II, his love of all things games has extended upwards and outwards onto a variety of platforms. You can either believe that spiel, or get the real scoop and know that his spaceship actually crashed here some years ago and he is currently incognito as a games writer for Console Monster.
