Console Guide New Features & Updates

Our Console Guide iPhone (and Google Android) App has been a resounding success for us, and we continue take the time to update the App whenever we can. There has been a few tweaks and updates introduced to the App which we have not been that vocal about, but now that we have added quite a few new features now, we thought we’d share these updates with you all. So onward with the details:

Updated News Layout & Tabs

Updated a month or so ago, we’ve made the news area that little bit easier to press, read, and with our new comments system we are showing clearly how many of you monsters are commenting on our articles.

A new update yesterday has seen an extra tab along the top for Videos. This will showcase all the newly added videos from YouTube.

The Guide tab has been updated so it now pulls in not only the latest updated Achievements and Trophy lists, but also newly added Reviews, so you can then go straight to that section in the knowledge that the particular game has a new list or review for it.

NEW Article Comments

We’ve been trialling our comments system for a few weeks now and we have found it to be a popular feature for the Console Guide, and the site as a whole.

Granted some comments mostly lead to console war rants, but between all that nastiness we do see some intelligent conversations between you monsters; so more of that please!

NEW Game Videos Section

This is a new feature which launched yesterday. Our new game videos section launched on the main site when we updated our new layout, and we are now bringing you those videos into the Console Guide App for your viewing pleasure. 馃檪

With new game videos releases almost on a daily basis, we hope to keep this feed as fresh as possible, so make sure you check this section regularly to view the latest game trailers on the web.

NEW Game Video View

Once you have clicked on a video of interest to you, you will be taken to the videos for that game. The one you clicked on will be highlighted below along with other videos for that same game.

This is a new feature to us so the list is a little sparse, so bear with us as we start to populate this area with the latest game videos.

To view a video, simply press on the play button to launch the video in the iPhone’s video player.

Updated Game Overview

This is a new update that was made a few weeks back. We’ve now taken out the single review scores for each game on each platform and replaced this will a list of ALL reviews for that game. This means you can view reviews for each downloadable content we have written for the game.

Some users of the Console Guide may also not be aware that you can click through to the Trophies and Achievements areas by simply taping on those areas (as if they were buttons).

So that’s a little brief overview of the latest updates for our Console Guide App. We have plenty more features to come to the premium PRO version of the Guide as well as some new updates for the FREE Lite version of the Guide.

If you have yet to sample the delights of our Console Guide App you can Click Here to view the PRO version on iTunes, Click Here to view the FREE Lite version of the Guide, or if you are an Android user, head on over to the Marketplace on your device and you’ll find both the FREE and PRO versions available to purchase from there.

We welcome all feedback on the Console Guide and we take on board your wishes and requests, so leave us your comments via our Contact Form or give us your feedback or views on the Guide below in the comments.
