In a bizarre continuation of movie villain cameos inGhosts DLC, following on from slasher icon Michael Myers’ (from 1978’sHalloweenfor those of you hiding behind the sofa!) appearance in Onslaught, Devastation is to deliver Predator from the Arnold Schwarzenegger classic of the same name.
Come to Papa.
Though it seems a little cheap to rely on these sensational tactics to generate clickbait headlines and quick trending buzz with their new content, Infinity Ward look to have added something genuinely entertaining in the form of the Predator. Appearing in the Ruins map, mirroring the jungle environment that provided the backdrop for the chaos in the movie, the Predator is delivered as a drop, much the same as a Maniac would be.
The dev team seem to have expanded on the relative simplicity of the Michael Myers character by introducing a cloaking device, a thermal imaging mode and automatically locking-on shoulder rockets. The cloaking device and melee attacks will go hand in hand, as the efficacy of the cloak is determined by the Predator’s movement speed so sneaking in stealth might prove that slow and steady makes fist blades a-bloody, but there’re sure to be players favouring taking advantage of the Predator’s ridiculous speed and agility. It looks a helluva lot of fun and is sure to make the Ruins map a new fan favourite.
