Christmas comes early as Epic release Gears 2 maps

Completely out of the blue, downloadable content has been released for Gears of War 2 [see what I did there?]. Major Nelson posted the details of the downloadable content, known as the Combustible Map Pack, on his blog:

Explosive action takes centre stage in these three new Gears 2 multiplayer maps: Flood, Gold Rush, and Fuel Station. Flood features a rising flow of Imulsion that drives the fight into close quarters. Infiltrate an Imulsion factory in Gold Rush, where multiple levels and volatile materials guarantee memorable encounters. Fuel Station delivers a dangerous battle around an abandoned refuelling facility.

The map pack costs a slightly-on-the-expensive side price of 800 Microsoft Points. If you aren’t afraid to splash the cash then you can purchase and add the title to your download queue here. The multiplayer map pack is not available in Germany and Japan.

To coincide with the map pack is a Combustible Map Pack Trailer which gives players a look at the new maps. Best of all, the free trailer is narrated by non-other than Gears of War favourite: Augustus Cole. You can download this trailer for free by clicking here. This trailer is not available in Germany and Japan.
