We’ve already seen site’s such as WiiCade, Virgin Radio and a few…*ahem* Adult sites making u”se of the Wii’s and PS3’s web browers and now Cartoon Network are getting in on the act by announcing the MEGA Series. Being developed by AFI’s Digital Content Lab, the MEGA Series will feature content from popular Cartoon Network and [adult swim] programmes.
Paul Condolora, senior vice president and general manager of Cartoon Network New Media, said:
“Developing applications like MEGA Series is an important complement to our existing online and mobile businesses and a part of Cartoon Network’s digital growth strategy.”
Ross Cox, senior director of entertainment products, Cartoon Network New Media, added:
“We’d like to think our efforts effectively demonstrate how the console browser can be utilized as a new distribution platform.”
