Who said map packs weren’t profitable? Certainly not Robert Kottick, the CEA of Activision. He has recently announced that the Call of Duty franchise has just topped20 million unit sales for its map packs. The map packs aren’t cheap either so you do the maths.
“The Call of Duty franchise is unique in the world of entertainment and delivers one of the best multiplayer experiences ever,” said Robert Kotick, CEO of Activision Blizzard. “We are thrilled to deliver to fans exciting and engaging content that has the intensity they have come to expect from the franchise.”
Out of those 20 million units I have at least three and no doubt I’ll purchase more in the future, providing they don’t get any more expensive. How many units have you contributed?
