Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel soundtrack out September 30

The official soundtrack to the upcoming Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel will be released via digital channels on September 30.

Picked up by video game licensing and distribution label Sumthin Else Music Works, the soundtrack will be available on that date via iTunes, Amazon, and other music download and streaming outlets. A two-CD physical version of the album will be released at retail on October 14.

Disc 1 will feature tracks from the electronic synthesizer-heavy score created by composer Jesper Kyd, who also worked on the first two Borderlands games. Kyd calls it “my take on 1980s sci-fi music and electronic music,” with “everything from Commodore 64 and Sega Megadrive instruments to massive analog synths and vintage drum machines.”

Disc 2 will contain a “mix of ambient soundscapes” and combat music by 2K Australia’s in-house sound designers Des Shore and Justin Mullins.
