With the recent news that BioShock had gone Gold and the game being only two weeks away from release it is now time to wind up the marketing hype on what is already claiming to be one of THE titles to own for your 360 and PC this year, or this side of Halo 3 and Mass Effect anyway.

While the rest of Europe sleeps, a 60 second trailer recently aired in the US and has simultaneously hit the Xbox LIVE Marketplace for those who missed it, as well as for the rest of us who have work the next morning. But that’s not all, rumours across the interweb suggested that there was going to be a surprise announcement after the trailer was released. Was it going to be that you will be able to actually wrestle with the Big Daddy, or maybe cast lollypops out of the vains of your arms, maybe a return of the SystemShock 2 monkeys were coming back…no far more obvious; a demo!

Yup that’s right, a demo of BioShock has been unleashed to the masses, curse our working days! So best pick up that phone and call in sick else its going to be a long day for gamers at work today. As for you kids on summer holiday, well waste time no longer, get downloading right now if you know what’s good for you and then come back here and leave us your impressions on the demo below.
