Microsoft is auctioning a special edition of the Xbox 360, to celebrate the arrival of The Beatles: Rock Band, which launched today.
It is the 9/9/09, sadly we were still in bed and missed the 9.09am business, but because The Beatles loved the number 9, it was only fitting for the game to arrive today.
Anyway, the Xbox 360 has some special artwork alongside it and is on eBay. It’ll set you back a fair bob, currently at $3400 and counting, with 67 bids.
The proceeds from the auction will go to the charity Médecins Sans Frontières. Google them.
If you don’t fancy forking out however, any of you buying the 360-exclusive, ‘All You Need Is Love’ song for 160 MS Points (£1.36) in old money, will be entered into a prize draw to win a limited edition console and a Rickenbacker guitar controller, worth around £90.
Today is a little bit special, because the song download will be the first time EVER, a Beatles song has made it onto digital download. That is quite a coup for gamers across the world and heralds the successes of games like the Rock Band series.
Head onto the Xbox Marketplace for plenty more Beatles fun as we celebrate and sing, ‘Hey Jude’.
A full review soon.
