BBC shows heading for America

The BBC will begin to sell television programmes on the US Marketplace, but it won’t work in the way in which Sky Player will, which was announced earlier.

You’ll be able to buy popular BBC Worldwide programmes with MS Points on the Xbox and Zune marketplace which will be exclusive to America.

That includes the likes of Top Gear, Doctor Who, Torchwood, Little Britain, Robin Hood and Primeval. They will be avaliable in SD or for double MS Points, HD. Pricing is yet to be confirmed however but will fall in-line with content already on sale from other broadcasters.

The BBC joins the likes of ABC, CBS and Fox on offering content to gamers. However they still haven’t got round to offering much over in good old Blightly (we pay the bloody telly licence!) and fans are crying out for a version of iPlayer for the Xbox 360.
