BBC iPlayer app to launch on Xbox One by ‘the end of this year’

The BBC iPlayer app for the Xbox One will launch by the end of 2014, it has been revealed.

Posting on the BBC blog, Marcus Parnwell, the Executive Product Manager of BBC iPlayer, said: “I am happy to announce that we’re aiming to launch new BBC iPlayer on Xbox One by the end of this year.”

The BBC iPlayer app has been available on the PlayStation 4 since the console’s launch in November, though no reason was given for the Xbox One delay.
