BBC iPlayer app now available on Xbox One

The BBC iPlayer app is now available on the Xbox One.

The app, which weighs in at 46MB, allows users to view on-demand BBC programmes. It also contains support for voice control and hand gestures.

Posting on the BBC website, Peter Lasko, the Senior Product Manager for BBC iPlayer on TV, said: “As announced, we have been working closely with Microsoft to bring our new version of iPlayer to this device and I am very excited for Xbox One users to get access to BBC iPlayer.”

The post confirmed that users do not need to be an Xbox Live Gold member in order to download and access the app.
