Battlefield Hits 12 Millions Units Shipped Despite Ban

EA has today revealed it’s latest Battlefield 3 sales figures and they’re not all that bad.

EA’s chief financial officer confirmed that the latest title in the franchise has now shipped over 12 millions units since launch and sold over 8 million copys.

The game has managed all this despite a country wide ban in Iran due to the portrayal of said country in the video game.

“In that Battlefield 3 is not available for purchase in Iran, we can only hope the ban will help prevent pirated copies reaching consumers there,” EA said.

Despite a long absence from gaming, during which he spent many a night reminiscing about the glory days on Halo 2, Matty is now back online smashing his way through Black Ops and soon enough Gears of War 3 and Battlefield 3.
