Arcade Tron to get XBLA remake

To celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Tron movie, Disney Interactive Studios have announced that the 1982 Arcade game Tron and its 1983 follow up Discs of Tron will be released this summer on the Xbox Live Arcade. Both games will have enhanced graphics and audio and Xbox Live play will be included as well as the usual Achievements and Leaderboards.

Tron sees the player play four different game modes to progress all of which are inspired by the film of the same name. These include destroying grid bugs to enter the I/O Tower and competing in Light Cycle battles.

Discs of Tron sees you take on Sark, the defender of Master Control Program. The player moves from a number of platforms whilst throwing energy-charged discs at Sark while also deflecting Sark’s disc which are thrown at you. The winner is the first to “derezz” their opponent.
