‘Any Given Sunday’ is a term used in the world of NFL basically meaning that you never know how each individual will perform come kick off. Your 1st round Linebacker could let’s every man and his dog run on by, or that multi-million dollar Quarterback could throw six picks in a game despite scoring 42 unanswered points a week earlier.
With that in mind developer Tiburon has included this feature into the new franchise mode of Madden NFL 2012. This is one of the many improvements Tiburon is promising as the games release date gets closer and closer.
The tackling within the game has also vastly improved with Madden designer Larry Richart saying, “One of the areas of the game that we felt needed some major improvements was tackling on defense. The amount of warping, sliding and suction that occurred during tackles was painful and frustrating to watch over the past few years. With that in mind, we created an all-new collision system in which tackles will only trigger once contact is actually made with the ball carrier, which of course is how tackles occur in real life. With suction, warping and sliding being removed from the game, you will no longer see ball carriers get sucked into tackles by engaged defensive lineman when trying to run through a hole.”
Madden 2012 will be hitting stores as the new NFL season begins (CBA dependent).
