2K tweet hints at future BioShock announcement

A tweet posted by 2K UK has sent the rumour mill into overdrive.

The tweet, which was sent at 11:41am on Thursday, July 24th, 2014, read: “Oooo, what COULD this mean?!” accompanied by an image of a painting from Eve’s Garden in the original BioShock game. Eve’s Garden also featured in the multiplayer for BioShock 2.

When asked by a tweeter what they are up to, 2K United Kingdom simply responded with: “Shenanigans.”

The announcement is unlikely to be related to new downloadable content for any of the BioShock titles due to the disbanding of the game’s developer in February of this year. However, early rumours suggest a next-generation rerelease may be in the works.

BioShock was originally released on the Xbox 360 in August 2007, before being ported to the PlayStation 3 in October 2008.
