With the month of September nearly over, the staff here at Console Monster reflect back at this month’s current events in the gaming world, as well as give a little insight of their gaming antics this month, and what they are looking forward to playing next month. This Month we will be doing things a little different by rolling out each topic over the course of the week. So to kick off we let you know what we’ve been playing this month…

Dave: The Summer drought really kicked in this month as I was playing a lot of my oldies. I started the month with 33,833 GamerScore and ended up with 34,698 which isn’t too bad considering the amount of time I’ve been playing. The highlights of my month have to be playing the incredible Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise and NHL 09, which is a pretty decent game too. Halo 3 has to get a worthy mention. The title update got me playing again and has reminded me of how good Halo 3 actually is.

Rob: I’ve been playing Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 which I reviewed for this very site and which has been quite enjoyable. However most of the month has been taken over by playing GTA IV; after my brother managed to delete my 60 hour file; which was hell for me! I got over the initial rage and decided to do a quick run-through and I’ve got much further than I had all but without all the side missions and stuff done. I’m on my way to completing it in under 30 hours which is my goal! I also bought Braid on the Arcade and have been very impressed by its style and the music in particular, though it isn’t a massive game.

Luke: As many months before this one I’ve been playing Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare for the Xbox 360 and organizing a new tournament which is coming soon on the site! Aside from that I am currently playing Warriors Orochi 2 which I am reviewing for the site, so look out for that real soon!

Anthony: This month i’ve been chipping away more of the GTA IV story. I’m now into around 70% of the story and getting more into the plot more that I did earlier on in the game, still, it’s taking far too long than I was expecting it to be. Sadly all that will have to go on hold as my repaired 360 has now failed on me yet again, so while that is out for repair I have turned to my faithful fault free *ahem* PS3 and the awesome WipeOut HD on PSN. I loved the first three and never played the PSP versions so the tracks in HD are great to play on, and in glorious 60fps, 1080p too. Online has been great fun so far (if a little silent) and I’ll no doubt be playing this for many more months to come.

Reece: I spent a small chunk of the month on a gamerscore binge grabbing a few thousand points from horrific games such as Far Cry, Fantastic Four and Warriors Orochi. Other than that I have only touched my 360 this month for work purposes, such as reviewing a Soul Calibur earlier this month and Star Wars The Force Unleashed currently; which is fantastic by the way. Lookout for my review on the site soon.

Chris: I have been playing the same stuff over and over. Lots of Castle Crashers and lots of Rock Band as per usual. I also finished Braid this month and dug out Chrono Trigger and Earthbond. I’ve not been playing much else either. I had to suffer through Infinite Undiscovery for review as well.

Well that’s it, short and sweet. Why not let us know what YOU have been playing this past month by leaving your feedback in the comments! We’ll see you tomorrow with our impressions on the month’s Xbox 360 price drop.
