Halo 4 – Release Date: 6 November 2012

Taking the reins from franchise forebears Bungie, 343 Industries will expand upon the success they found with Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary to bring their own unique vision to the Halo universe, creating a game that reaches beyond the series’ traditional FPS roots to offer a more diverse gameplay experience that incorporates elements of exploration and discovery.

The first in a trilogy of new games, Halo 4 promises not only a deep campaign mode with a rich story, but will also introduce a groundbreaking new multiplayer mode – Halo Infinity Multiplayer – that will redefine the way people think about storytelling and multiplayer experiences.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 – Release Date: 13 November 2012

It’s time to go behind enemy lines with Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 as a solider from an elite fighting force in a world of covert operations, deniable missions and secret warfare.

In this sequel to one of the best selling and most critically acclaimed games of all time, Alex Mason is back and the stakes have never been higher. International figure Raul Menendez claims to be a messiah for the 99% but underneath the surface there’s Cordis Die and a villain plotting to bring the world’s superpowers to war.

Hitman: Absolution – Release Date: 20 November 2012

Hitman: Absolution follows Agent 47, a cold blooded assassin, who takes on his most dangerous contract to date. Betrayed by those he trusted and hunted by the police, he finds himself at the centre of a dark conspiracy and must embark on a personal journey through a corrupt and twisted world, in his search for the truth.

Showcasing IO Interactive’s new proprietary Glacier 2 technology, the game has been built from the ground up, boasting a cinematic story, distinctive art direction and highly original game design, Hitman: Absolution combines much loved classic gameplay with completely new gameplay features for the Hitman franchise.

So that’s my top five games I’m most looking forward to in the remaining three months of the year. Safe to say my wallet is thinking otherwise. There are also a few more games that didn’t quite make the cut, but are worth keeping an eye out for. Resident Evil 6 is out on 2nd October, while Dishonored releases on October 12th.It’s the return of Medal of Honor as well which hits our stores on 23 October. It’s been a great year to be a gamer but let’s enjoy the next three months which looks set to be amazing.
